Hi, I started this website because I wanted to provide a forum where people could buy and sell clothes (& more) without the exorbitant fees of the other sites. I have always been a lover of clothes and shoes and love finding that unique and/or vintage-y item. I found that other auction sites and thrift stores were a great place to find rare and special items at a good price. However, what I did not like was that the fees of those places were outrageous, especially when you wanted to sell something to them. Thrift stores often only give 30% at best of what they plan to sell your items for. Auction sites are no different, charging you fees to list your item, fees for pictures, fees for a picture beside the item title, fees for selling your item and last but not least a Paypal fee! I decided to create a better place because I found that buying and selling designer clothes was a great way to refresh your closet.
On my site, everything is free. No transaction fees, no listing fees, no fees for pictures, an automatic picture beside your item title, and no hidden costs. Furthermore, I will post the fees of the U.S. Postal Service, which offers surprisingly low rates for items like a shirt that can be put in a manila envelope and sent regular first class mail, so that shipping fees do not get out of control. This is more of a community than a business. It is a community where that nice shirt that you are sick of becomes someone else?s great find. For me, a lot of my closet is very nice clothes that I have only worn a few times. The items are in great condition and still stylish but I am just bored with them. Or maybe something was working in the store and when I got home it just didn?t work for some reason. Maybe you gained (or lost!) weight and the item just doesn?t fit the same. Maybe your career has changed and your wardrobe just doesn?t work anymore. This site will allow you to recoup some of your cost of that expensive item and let someone have it who will love it! A lot of my most complimented pieces were items I got from another auction website or a thrift store. It is the same as when you want to borrow clothes from your friend and think your friends? closets are better than your own. Their stuff is not better it is just new and different than yours! Also, you will find it is a lot easier to clean out your closet when you get something for it and you know the item will be appreciated by someone else.
I want this site to mainly feature designer and major store brand items. I don?t want the site to be filled with clothes that should be going to Goodwill. This is intended to be an upscale clothes auction site where all the items sold are in good to excellent condition. This does not mean that ONLY designer clothes can be listed, but does mean that cheap items with a lot of wear and tear are not preferred.
Because I want this site to be a community, I encourage feedback and suggestions anytime. I also would love to answer any questions you may have.
